Primarily family correspondence, 1814-1861, including Edward to his father, William, about life in New York City, 1829; letters to William Fitch in Ohio from Sarah Hayden, Edmund Fitch, and other Schodack relatives, 1836-1852, concerning church news, Schodack legal cases where Fitch was justice of the peace, politics and Van Buren, railroads, and family news; and letters by Nancy Fitch Dawes, Ann Dawes, and Mary Dawes Donahue concerning visits to Fitch relatives in Schodack and religious meetings in cousin Sally's house, 1845-1861. Other letters include several Bryant family letters, 1809-1852; courtship letters between Mary Hanford of Norwalk, Conn., and Nathaniel Raymond of Troy, N.Y., 1815-1816, which also mention religious thoughts and Mary's brother's reluctance to sanction her marriage. Other items include wills, receipts, bills, promissory notes, agreements, and school memorabilia, 1811-1836, and clipping about the historical papers of the Bryant family given to the Historical Society of Granville, 1936.
